I’ve been interested in graphic design ever since you could only “undo” once in Photoshop. My passion started by editing goofy pictures of friends and family and quickly moved into a viable career option in high school. I had a few phenomenal teachers mentor me and lead me down the path of creativity in high school, but it was really what came afterwards that cemented my interest in the arts. I studied Graphic Communications Technology at the British Columbia Institute of Technology for one year and focused on print production, then went on to study Visual Communications Design for one more year at Vancouver Community College. In between, I worked at a small sign shop learning about not only large-format printing, but the day-to-day tasks of running a business. I also worked at a school/clinic of Naturopathic Medicine – a job that tested my ability to adapt to a corporate design setting.
After my education and internship experience, I wanted to get my working career started so I found a job at a “one-stop-shop” print shop named Minuteman Press. I didn’t settle though, and kept searching for a job that would challenge my ability and continuously make me explore new forms of design. I then worked at a Real Estate Marketing Agency, Exceeds Inc., a local start-up with big ambitions. Being a start-up, every day was different for me; I was consistently challenged to find a new way to design and create. I am currently working at Magnum Nutraceuticals as a Communications Designer and continue to grow every day!
